Raj has particularly developed sector expertise in barristers’ chambers, property and healthcare. Prior to Litchfields, Raj was a tax manager at Armitage and Norton, now part of KPMG, where he qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser. Raj currently chairs the Tax Faculty Board and is a member of ICAEW Council and its Technical Strategy Board.

Paul was ICAEW President 2018/19 and is a former Chair of the Tax Faculty. He is a member of CIOT Council, HMRC’s Administrative Burdens Advisory Board, the OTS Board and CFE’s Tax Technology Committee and recently retired as a tax partner with an independent west country firm of chartered accountants. In 1997 he filed the UK’s first electronic tax return and has maintained a close interest in digitalisation of tax administration, serving on HMRC’s Carter Programme Board which oversaw the implementation of the 2006 Carter Review.
